Alcohols

n-Butanol

CAS: 71-36-3
n-butanol, n-butyl alcohol,1-Butanol

n-Butanol is a clear, mobile, neutral liquid with a characteristic odor. It is miscible with all common solvents, e. g. alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its miscibility with water, however, is restricted.

2-Ethylhexanol

CAS: 104-76-7
2-Ethylhexan-I-ol, 2-Ethyl-1-hexanol, Isooctanol

2-ethylhexanol is a clear, mobile and neutral liquid with a characteristic odor. It is miscible with most common organic solvents but its miscibility with water is very limited.

2-ethylhexanol enters the reactions that are typical of primary alcohols. For instance, it readily forms esters with various acids.

i-Butanol

CAS: 78-83-1
i-Butanol, isobutyl alcohol, 2-methyl-1-propanol

i-Butanol is a clear, mobile, neutral liquid with a characteristic odour. It is miscible with all common solvents, e.g. alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its miscibility with water, however, is limited.

3-Methyl-1-Butanol

CAS: 123-51-3
3-Methyl-1-butanol, 3-Methylbutanol-1, Isoamyl alcohol

3-Methyl-1-Butanol is an intermediate for the chemical industry, for example for the manufacture of corrosion inhibitors, flotation aids, fuel and lubricating oil additives, polyvinyl chloride stabilizers, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, essences, plasticizers, rubber auxiliaries and paint solvents.

Pentanol Mixture

CAS: 71-41-0, 137-32-6, 123-51-3
Pentanol mixture consists of n-Pentanol, 2-Methylbutanol-1, 3-Methylbutanol-1

Pentanol Mixture is colourless, flammable liquid with a mild to moderately strong odor. Pentanol Mixture is miscible with common organic solvents and is also used to make other chemicals.

n-Pentanol

CAS: 71-41-0
1-Pentanol, Pentan-1-ol, n-Amyl alcohol

Intermediate for the chemical industry, for example for the manufacture of corrosion inhibitors, flotation aids, fuel and lubricating oil additives, plasticizers, polyvinyl chloride stabilizers, pharmaceuticals, herbicides, antioxidants, extractants, cosmetics, essences and paint solvents.

n-Propanol

CAS: 71-23-8
n-Propanol, 1-Propanol, Propan-1-ol, n-Propyl alcohol

n-Propanol is a clear, low-viscosity, neutral liquid with a characteristic alcohol odor. The product is miscible with all common solvents, such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons. n-Propanol is also miscible in all proportions with water.

C13-C15 Alcohol

CAS Number: 85566-16-1
C13-C15 Alcohols, linear and branched

C13-C15-alcohol is a clear, high-boiling, low-volatility, oily liquid with a characteristic odour. The product is miscible with most of the usual organic solvents. It is virtually insoluble in water. C13-C15-alcohol is a mixture of isomeric tridecanols to pentadecanols and reacts in the manner typical of this class of substances. Of significance for its application in practice are, for example, its reaction with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide in the manufacture of surfactants and its reaction with acids to form the corresponding esters.

Isotridecanol N

CAS Number: 27458-92-0
Mixture of primary tridecyl alcohol isomers

Isotridecanol N is a clear, high-boiling, oily liquid with a faint, characteristic odour. It is miscible with most common organic solvents, but is practically insoluble in water. Isotridecanol N is a mixture of isomeric alcohols with a high molecular mass and reacts accordingly. For instance, the most significant application in practise is the formation of the corresponding esters in reactions with acids.

Propylheptanol

CAS: 10042-59-8
2-Propyl-I-heptanol, 2-propylheptane-I-ol

Propylheptanol is a clear, high-boiling liquid with a mild odor. It is miscible with most common organic solvents, but is practically insoluble in water.
Propylheptanol is a mixture of isomeric decyl alcohols and reacts accordingly. An example of an application of practical significance is the formation of the corresponding esters in reaction with acids.

Aldehydes

n-Butyraldehyde

CAS: 123-72-8
Butyraldehyde, Butanal

n-Butyraldehyde is a colorless, flammable liquid which has a pungent, unpleasant odor. It should be used as a chemical intermediate only. It undergoes reactions typical for the low molecular weight aldehydes, which, because of the terminal carbonyl group, are very reactive. Contamination or the exposure to elevated temperatures may induce a hazardous polymerization. n-Butyraldehyde is readily oxidized if in contact to oxygen and should therefore be stored under inert gases.

i-Butyraldehyde

CAS: 78-84-2
i-Butyraldehyde, 2-Methylpropanal

i-Butyraldehyde is a colorless, flammable liquid which has a pungent, unpleasant odor. It should be used as a chemical intermediate only. Examples of chemicals derived from Isobutyraldehyde are as follows: essential amino acids, solvents, flavor and fragrance chemicals, glycols, hydraulic fluids, lubricants and polymers. It undergoes reactions typical for the low molecular weight aldehydes, which are very reactive because of the terminal carbonyl group. Contamination or the exposure to elevated temperatures may induce a hazardous polymerization. i-Butyraldehyde is readily oxidized if in contact to oxygen and should therefore be stored under inert gases.

Propionaldehyde

n-Propanal, Propionaldehyde

Intermediate or processing aid for the chemical industry, for example for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, perfumes and plastics.
