For more than 50 years, BASF’s ACCF plant in Ludwigshafen has been a reliable producer of acid chlorides and chloroformates, supplying key intermediates for pharmaceuticals, crop protection, plastics, and renewable energy applications. Serving a broad global customer base, the plant plays a vital role in diverse and stable markets. On September 2, 2026, BASF officially inaugurated its fully modernized ACCF plant, reaffirming the company’s long-term commitment to these essential value chains. The modernization project, launched in 2022, increases production capacity by approximately 30% while strengthening supply reliability and sustainability. Together with BASF’s ACCF plant in South Korea, the site now contributes to the company’s position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of chloroformates, acid chlorides, and alkyl chlorides.
