ZDHC certification

Textiles produced using BASF sulfites as reducing agents are now proven to be responsibly manufactured. This is because the sulfites sodium sulfite anhydrous A and sodium metabisulfite (both non-food grade) have been awarded the ZDHC Confidence Level 3 V3.1 certificate. This means that the BASF sulfite plant in Ludwigshafen is now included in the ZDHC's MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List).

The same applies to our Hydrosulfites from Ludwigshafen

BASF Monomers Hydrosulfite

The following Sulfites are  ZDHC certified: sodium sulfite anhydrous A and sodium metabisulfite (both non food grade)

Highest purity and reliability

Sodium sulfite
Sodium sulfite is a highly effective reducing and bleaching agent. It is used in the photographic industry as oxidation protection for developer solutions, as an anti-corrosion agent in water treatment or as an antichlorine in the textile industry. BASF offers sodium sulfite in various grades, all of which meet the highest standards of quality and purity.
Sodium metabisulfite
In the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, sodium metabisulfite is mainly used as a reducing agent. It is also ideal for bleaching plant fibers and textiles, to produce solutions used in the development of photos and films and for the treatment of tanning agents in the dyeing of textiles. BASF offers sodium metabisulfite in various grades, all of which meet the highest quality standards.
Potassium metabisulfite
Potassium metabisulfite is a strong reducing agent that is mainly used in the photographic industry: BASF's potassium metabisulfite is ideal for acidifying fixing baths or for use as a reducing component in formulations. Both our consistently high quality and our excellent customer service ensure the satisfaction of our customers. BASF's potassium metabisulfite always meets the highest standards.
TÜV Rheinland has conducted the analytical conformity assessment at BASF and completed the on-site audit according to ZDHC MRSL Level 3. To achieve this, companies must meet stringent requirements in various areas, including health and safety management, waste and air emissions management including EHS, supplier management, quality management systems and toxicological risk assessment
