Sustainable plasticizer solutions
BASF offers plasticizers with different sustainable attributes. Click on the sustainable solutions below to learn more!

Biomass Balance (BMB)
Available BMB plasticizers: Hexamoll® DINCH BMB, Palatinol® N BMB, Palatinol® 10-P BMB, Plastomoll® DOA & DNA BMB, Palamoll® 652, 654 & 656 BMB
BASF‘s Biomass Balance Approach contributes to the use of renewable raw materials in its integrated production system. In this process, renewable resources such as bio-naphtha or bio-methane replace fossil feedstock at the very beginning of the Production Verbund and are attributed to the respective sales products using a third-party verified mass balance approach. The certified products thus contribute to sustainable development by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving fossil resources.
The resulting plasticizers which carry the name suffix “BMB” are certified according to ISCC PLUS or REDcert2 and have the exact same properties as the standard grades. Our customers can therefore further process them in the same way as conventionally manufactured products and use them in demanding applications.
By choosing a BMB plasticizer, you can contribute to reducing fossil resource consumption and get a product with a reduced carbon footprint compared to the conventional grade.

Green Electricity (GE)
Available GE plasticizers: Hexamoll® DINCH GE, Palatinol® N GE, Palatinol® 10-P GE
Products based on green electricity are produced using 100% renewable electricity by attribution approach (self-declaration). This means that 100% of the electricity used is substituted with green electricity using a mass balance chain of custody.
The resulting plasticizers which carry the name suffix “GE” have the exact same properties as those manufactured using electricity from fossil sources. Our customers can therefore further process them in the same way as conventionally manufactured products and use them in demanding applications.
By choosing a GE plasticizer, you can contribute to the energy transformation from fossil to renewable sources and get a product with a reduced carbon footprint compared to the conventional grade..

ChemCycling® (Ccycled®)
Available Ccycled® plasticizers: Hexamoll® DINCH Ccycled®
In the production of Ccycled® products, conventional fossil raw materials required to manufacture BASF products are replaced with recycled feedstock from the chemical recycling of plastic waste along BASF’s integrated production chain. The corresponding share of recycled feedstock is attributed to the specific Ccycled® product via a certified mass balance approach.
The resulting plasticizers which carry the name suffix “Ccycled®” are offered according to the certification scheme REDcert2 and have the exact same properties as the standard grades. Our customers can therefore further process them in the same way as conventionally manufactured products and use them in demanding applications.
By choosing a Ccycled® plasticizer, you can contribute to the recycling of plastic waste.
