Pescafácil starts transporting fish and seafood in Knauf Industries’ CELOOPS® boxes produced with Ccycled® EPS from BASF

Sea products supplier Pescafácil, specialized in seafood, has started using fish boxes made of Knauf Industries’ CELOOPS® material, which is produced using expandable polystyrene (EPS) granules Styropor® Ccycled® from BASF.

In a recently completed pilot project, BASF, together with the housing society ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING and the manufacturer of external thermal insulation composite systems Sto, successfully used an insulation board based on expandable polystyrene (EPS) containing recycled material.

BASF to sell Styrodur® business to BACHL

Ludwigshafen, Germany – BASF has signed an agreement with Karl Bachl Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH & Co. KG (BACHL) for the sale of its business with Styrodur®, an insulation material made from extruded polystyrene (XPS). BACHL is one of the leading manufacturers of insulation materials in Germany, an experienced XPS producer and a long-standing Styrodur® distribution partner of BASF. The sale also includes the brand Styrodur®. Approximately 50 employees in production, marketing and sales at BASF SE are involved in this business. The affected employees will remain with BASF SE. Subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities, the completion of the sale is expected by mid-2025. The parties have agreed to keep the financial details of the transaction confidential.

Ice Ice Baby! Sustainably packaged with Styropor® Ccycled™ by BASF

Imballaggi Alimentari, an Italian based company specialized in the production of ice cream packaging, has launched the Remaxigel boxes made of Styropor® Ccycled™. The boxes made of EPS (expandable polystyrene) boast excellent performance and were primarily designed for artisanal ice-cream shops.

Fresh salmon packed with Styropor® Ccycled™: The world’s first EPS fish boxes based on chemically recycled plastics introduced in Norway

Ludwigshafen, Germany and Vartdal/Bømlo, Norway, 14 December 2021 – Fresh fish and ChemCycling™: How does this go together? In a joint project, three companies have demonstrated how it works: BASF as raw material supplier for EPS, VARTDAL PLAST, who converts the beads into filet fish boxes and Bremnes Seashore that uses the boxes for the transport of some of its high-quality salmon brand BÖMLO® as of Christmas 2021.
