CoMo / NiMo
BASF offers well approved catalyst solutions for the pygas full hydrogenation step for more than 40 years. Our customers can choose between a high-performance option to enable processing at low temperatures or a well-balanced catalyst system with highest aromatic retention rates.
Products available
Processing pyrolysis gas feeds is commonly done in a 2-step process. While the first step is aiming at the selective hydrogenation of sytrene and dienes, the second step is required to fully hydrogenate all remaining olefins and sulfur-species into the corresponding alkanes and into H2S which can be separated from the valueable BTX product.

Processing coke oven light oil streams is commonly done in a gas phase 2-step process or a liquid-gas phase 3-step process to enable reliable hydrogenation of unsaturates and a removel of organic sulfur and nitrogen species at the same time.
