The bio!TOY conference on 7–8 September 2021 in Nuremberg, Germany (hybrid event),  brought more than 100 manufacturers of bio-based materials and toys and other interested parties together.

Plastic is by far the most commonly used material for toys. Many popular toy manufacturers announced to use alternative raw materials in the future: therefore, recyclability, the use of recycled or renewable raw materials, as well as significantly lower CO2 emissions are important new development goals.

Herbert Morgenstern (Technical Marketing Plasticizers Europe BASF SE) was one of the speakers at the bio!TOY conference and introduced the BASF plasticizers portfolio based on alternative raw materials: the Biomass Balanced and CcycledTM plasticizers.
